Bring the essence of homegrown goodness into your kitchen with these rustic garlic braids, featuring 10 carefully selected bulbs (3 large, 4 medium, 3 small). Grown and hand-braided by me, each braid is more than just a beautiful decoration—it’s packed with flavor and ready to be used in your favorite dishes or saved for planting this fall. The garlic stores beautifully at room temperature for 6-9 months, so you can enjoy fresh, homegrown garlic throughout the year.

Whether you’re roasting savory meals, enhancing recipes with bold flavor, or planning next year’s garden, these braids are meant to be used—not just admired for their rustic charm. The assortment includes a mix of softneck artichoke garlic varieties, known for their robust flavors and reliable storage.

NOTE: You may wonder why the garlic isn't all white like you see in the grocery store. Leaving as much skin on the garlic as possible helps to protect the cloves and extend their storage life. Stripping the garlic down to pearly white skin removes important layers that shield the cloves from drying out and reduces their shelf life.

TIP: Start from the bottom and work your way up. This keeps the braid intact and stable as you use it. Gently cut or twist off the bulb closest to the bottom, and continue upward as you need more garlic. Starting from the top could cause the braid to unravel, making it harder to manage the remaining bulbs.

The braids may contain one or more of the following varieties (random mix).

Softneck garlic varieties:

Madrid. Originating in Spain, this variety brings a bold, classic garlic flavor with a bit of heat, perfect for adding depth to Mediterranean dishes. It’s known for its thick wrappers and consistent performance.

Oregon Blue. Developed in the Pacific Northwest, Oregon Blue has a robust, earthy flavor with a hint of sweetness. It’s ideal for roasting and pairs well with root vegetables.

Okrent. A lesser-known variety with Polish roots, Okrent delivers a slightly spicy bite with a pleasant aftertaste. It’s versatile enough for any dish, from soups to stews.

Polish White. Known for its pungency and rich flavor, Polish White brings an intense, satisfying garlic taste to any recipe. It stores exceptionally well, making it a top choice for both cooking and planting.

Red Toch. Originally from the Republic of Georgia, Red Toch is a softneck garlic with a delicate, yet tangy flavor that mellows when cooked. It’s perfect for those who prefer a milder garlic experience.

Sicilian. Hailing from Italy, Sicilian garlic offers a sweet and savory flavor with a touch of spice. It’s a classic choice for Italian cuisine and pairs wonderfully with pasta, sauces, and bread.
